Jay Massirman

With over 70 years combined experience in real estate, EDEN Multifamily has a rich history in selecting and developing successful residential projects.

Meet the Team

Mr. Massirman is co-founder of and serves as a managing director for EDEN Multifamily. Jay is an experienced real estate professional that has been in the industry for almost 30 years. He also serves as the founder and managing director of RKW Residential and Managing Principal of the Rivergate Companies a multifaceted real estate investment firm actively engaged in multifamily investment, self storage development and property management.

Prior to forming Rivergate|Massirman Group in 2007, Jay spent 20 years with CBRE, a global real estate service provider.  As a Vice Chairman he was a perennial top producer and actively involved in the sale and financing of more than 400 transactions including over 76,000 multifamily units with an aggregate value in excess of $10 billion.

Jay received his BBA from University of Miami in Finance and Accounting. He is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital,  a member of the Board of the University of Miami School of Architecture Masters in Real Estate and Development program, a member of the University of Miami Citizens Board and former Trustee of the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. He is also a member of ULI and the NMHC Board of Directors. He lives in Miami where it is rumored that no matter how hard he tries his golf handicap is permanently fixed at a 10.

As founder, President and CEO of EDEN Multifamily – Jay S. Jacobson has, over his 30-year career in the multifamily industry developed over 25,000 multifamily units and invested in/acquired over 40,000 units located in over 30 sub-markets in 22 cities nationwide. Prior to forming EDEN Multifamily with Jay Massirman, Mr. Jacobson served as the President of Stiles Residential Group in Fort Lauderdale and is a former national partner with Wood Partners. He was also a senior director of multi-family investments for Goldman Sachs Real Estate Services (fka Archon Group) and a managing director of Archstone Communities Trust. Jay received a Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Florida and Masters of Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Colorado.  Jay grew up in south Florida and learned the development/construction business from the ground up-literally—starting at the age of 12 digging foundation ditches for his fathers construction company. Jay lives in Delray Beach Florida where he serves on the City of Delray Beach Planning and Zoning Board, is a member of ULI MF product council and the NMHC Board of Directors. Jay uses his rare spare time flying around the world chasing any of the 12 types of billfish in the ocean—at last count he is up to 6.

Humberto Vanegas currently serves as CFO and brings over fifteen years of industry experience to the position. He established his local expertise with various Miami-based firms such as Newgard Development Group, CC Devco, and Related Group, developing a specialized knowledge of South Florida markets. Incorporating this experience with his skills in accounting, budgeting and financing, Humberto brings unparalleled insight into Eden Multifamily’ s projects.

Facets of Humberto’s daily responsibilities prior to Eden Multifamily includes cash management, accounting and reporting, coordination of tax returns and audits, establishing controls, project financing, establishing budgets and ensuring their execution, project analyzation and real estate closings.

Prior to his entrance into the business world, Humberto earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting, as well as his Masters in Accounting from Florida International University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Real Estate Sales License. Humberto lives in Miami and when not counting beans, spends most of his spare time with his wife and two young children.

Tia Jessee serves as the director of development for EDEN Multifamily and brings over 20 years of residential real estate development experience to EDEN, having directly managed the development of over 1,800 units throughout South Florida.  Ms. Jessee previously worked, for over 10 years with Wood Partners as a development manager in the south Florida office, overseeing all aspects of ground-up development for numerous institutional quality, market-rate multifamily projects including Red Road Commons in Miami, Alta Congress in Delray Beach, Alta Commons in Jupiter and Alta Pines in Palm Beach Gardens. While at Wood Partners she also managed the development of luxury condominiums and numerous condo conversions throughout the South Florida market.

Ms. Jessee attended the University of Florida and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from Florida International University. She lives in Lighthouse Point with her extended family that consists of her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs and a bunch of rabbits.

Leon Dixon, serves as Director of Acquisitions for Eden Multifamily.  He has been active in the real estate business since 2012 when he was recruited by the company’s principal to be a part of the acquisitions team which focused on acquiring multifamily assets.  Today, responsibilities may include deal sourcing, strategic planning, identifying and analyzing acquisition, researching, site selection, financial modeling, negotiating transactions, packaging deals for company clients and the execution of the transactions. Prior to joining Eden Multifamily, Mr. Dixon attended Nova Southeastern University where he earned an MBA in Finance.

In his tenure, he has been involved in over $80MM in Multifamily Acquisition and  Self-Storage transactions, all throughout the state of Florida.

Folks who know him have said he once qualified for a PGA Tour but declined to play in an effort to stay humble.

As Director of Operations for Eden Multifamily, Dana focuses on expediting day to day projects to assure continuity of job completion. He coordinates and follows through from inception to completion any project that the team puts on high priority. Background training includes a Business degree in Management and a prior 25 year stint from truck driver to President of a NYC based building supply Distributor in the Building Materials business with 3 locations, 24 employees and a fleet of tractor trailer and flatbed trucks- he sweated his way to the top.

JJ has said  “life would be much better if you ate a cheeseburger, fries and a cola every day”, but Dana think he is going to stick to his 2 hours a day at the gym and healthy salads!

Ying currently serve as research analyst for Eden Multifamily. He earned his M.S. from Florida International University, where he developed finance and revenue analyzing knowledge to the real estate business. He’s responsibilities include analyzing data on Eden Multifamily’s existing and potential markets, prepare and product of project/client presentation and reports, coordinate and develop real estate markets, trends and insight reports.

Tyler serves as an Acquisitions Associate for Eden. He was born and raised in Miami, FL and graduated from Florida State University where he earned a B.S. in Economics. His millennial mindset aids him in successfully producing acquisition strategies, target market research and data analysis. He prefers to spend his weekends and “sick days” fishing and diving in Islamorada.

Mr. Vidal serves as development associate for Eden. He holds a Bachelors of Architectural Design degree from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and two Masters degrees one in Real Estate Development and Urbanism degree from the University of Miami and other in Residential Development from the Universidad de Madrid / USFQ.

Santiago brings over ten years of industry experience to the position, developing residential projects in Ecuador. Designing and promoting over ten residential condo communities.

AnaMilena Pareja serves as the administrative and financial Assistant for Eden Multifamily. She brings over 18 years of experience in multiple administrative and financial fields while working for various companies.

She started her career in General Telecom, where she started as an Accounts Payable and over the course of 8 years she ended as the Billing and Cost Analyst before moving on to Swiftreach Networks Inc. where she expanded upon her Administrative experience as the Office Administrator and Personal Assistant to the president.

AnaMilena started her experience in Real Estate when she moved from New York to Miami and started working at Newgard Development Group as Staff Accountant for Humberto Vanegas for 4 years. During this time she develop skills in preparation of Financial Reports, budget performance and property management.

Prior to moving to Eden Multifamily, AnaMilena worked at Related Group as Contract Administrator Assistant before being invited by Humberto Vanegas to be part of the team at Eden Multifamily.
