Basis Industrial is a joint venture between Rivergate Companies and SJM Partners, formed by industry veterans Jay Massirman, Steve Garchik and Steve McBride, to develop and acquire urban infill self-storage facilities in high-value locations nationwide. Basis Industrial currently has 2 million square feet self-storage facilities in various stages of development and lease-up. Previously, SJM developed 4 million square feet self-storage in New York and Washington D.C. Active markets for Basis Industrial include South Florida, DC, NY, Boston, LA and Northern California. In total, the partners have developed 60+ storage facilities over the last 25 years, making it one of the leading developers of self-storage in the United States.
